While the engine is running, the camera is filming all the time.

After turning off the engine, the camera automatically switches to standby mode, so that the motion sensor takes pictures when it senses any movement (person/car) in front of or behind your car, in order to preserve the car battery.

(Note: The dash cam must be connected to a fuse cable or OBD cable to work with the engine off.)
